We can do it by using less energy to heat and cool our buildings and to power our industries.


We can drive vehicles that use less (or no) gasoline.


We can generate electricity by the wind that blows, the sun that shines and the heat that comes from the deep places within our planet.

We can make our own fuels from renewable sources that can be used over and over again.

When we do all this, we will energize our economy, create new jobs and improve our trade balance.

We will have less pollution, better health, less global warming.

We will be free to practice diplomacy based on issues other than our need for foreign oil and gas.

We will win our freedom without damaging our wild and wonderful places, created in the mists of geologic time and impossible to replace.

We will demonstrate how clever technology, organized by determined people, can attain ethical goals.

We must begin. We owe it to our children and grandchildren, and to what Abraham Lincoln liked to call "The Family of Man."
